The title sums it up – that wasn’t quite the Beta weekend I expected…
Reasons:
1. DYING – Have more revival points, so one doesn’t have to run for miles, and have NPCs there for repairing.
2. Quest Arrows – let them stay longer than 2 seconds or take them away and put markers instead.
3. Datachron calls – if one denies them, don’t have them show with each other next incoming call.
4. Network errors – bah! But at least we all suffered from them. Hope they get fixed for the next time.
5. Paths – tried them all:
EXPLORER: not for me, too much jumping.
SOLDIER: not for me, too much fighting.
SCIENTIST: not for me, too much fighting when it comes to scan living mobs.
so this leaves only the SETTLER for me… (running around picking up stuff and being able to build your own buff-stations is okay with me^^)
6. Crafting – seems to relate strongly on materials one cannot harvest. Have to try if salvaging helps.
7. Grafic errors – I posted those on the forums. I was not able to get rid of them by changing the game settings, so I do not know what to do about them. I played on my fairly new laptop which has 64bit Windows 8 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760M, 8 GB Ram and other good stuff. I just hope its not my PC and it will be solved until release^^
8. Character creation – my oh my, so little choices, so many ugly faces… There won’t be a male Aurin for me nor a male Human, I tried my best, even with face customizing I was not able to make them good looking. Also for female Humans or Aurins there is only ONE face nice looking, the others are ugly or have ugly parts like an ugly nose that you cannot change to something good looking :(
9. Quest tracker – this system of changing the sorting of the quests depending how close you are to the area drove me nuts. Have to see if I can change that in the settings.
10. Fun? – I had not much fun this weekend, that is for sure. I am not sure if I will pay for not having fun^^ So I just hope all works out somehow, just because there is still a lot I really like (the comic style, the funny talking <- well, two reasons are not THAT many really :P).
UPDATE: I posted this as a feedback in the forums (in a more detailed form), earning me the suspicion of trolling, many mean answers and a locked post. Carbine doesn’t want all-over feedback, they want you to open a post for each and every subject. Also they don’t follow their own rules: „Being mean to any members of the community, berating those in need, or just being downright hostile is a sure fire way to find yourself on the outside looking in.“ A few people stayed friendly and gave really good advices, which I need to try out next time possible.
(kudos to Dana S. Chase for proving that brainless jerks still troll MMO forums)
